Installation of generator distribution system
Playfords designed and installed a 3200A TPN generator distribution system allowing the client to maintain power in the event of transformer failure to 4 packaged sub stations. The project included the provision of a bespoke generator intake switchboard and associated downstream splitter switchboards along with the installation of approximately 150mtrs of 3200A busbar. The project presented specific challenges to overcome with regard to space constrains and the installation of a high current distribution system in one of the world’s most prestigious venues. Working closely with engineering staff at The Royal Opera House were able to provide an engineered solution to the problems providing the client with the resilience they required.
